Close Tex but no biscuit for you.;):p:D 65%

It is/was available from Amazon or was when they still sent stuff to Australia I have not tried Amazon.com.au but they have a search function.

I got some on Amazon 24/11/2016 after 1olbull posted last year an 8oz tin/bottle I think. Loctite 234227 LOC51048 US$31 AUD$43.60 including freight to Canberra Australia.
Thread:
Loctite Molly Grease

Also note operating temperature the MOTUL MOLYBDEN @Paul Bryant posted was only -30°C / -22°F to +130°C / +266°F with 185C for 'Drop Point' ,what I presume is melting point, i.e.when it turns liquid. Drop point ASTM D 2265 185°C / 365°F

Anyone know? @Speedy or @Claviger

LOCTITE ® LB 8012
Known as LOCTITE ® 8012 or LOCTITE ® Moly Paste April -2015
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION LOCTITE ® LB 8012 provides the following product characteristics:
Technology: Anti-Seize
Appearance: Dark gray paste
LMS Cure: Not applicable
Application: Lubrication
Specific Benefit
● Provides smoother than new metal surfaces
LOCTITE ® LB 8012 contains 65% molybdenum disulfide for maximum lubricity.
It is a heavy, black paste with unsurpassed lubricating qualities.
Machine tool marks and other irregularities are reduced to a mirror-smooth finish by its lubricating action.
LOCTITE ® LB 8012 reduces friction on threaded fasteners, including bolts, nuts and studs.
The low and uniform friction coefficient of 0.06 creates reliable assembly conditions.
Lubricant stays in place through heat, load and vibration to ensure a trouble-free disassembly.
For the ultimate in low friction solid lubrication:
press fit - no binding, no chatter or stick-slip, low force;
threaded fasteners - higher clamping for torque, less torque for same clamping, ease of removal (anti-seize);
slip-fit - easy assembly, disassembly, ready alignment;
metalworking - drawing, stamping, coining, extruding, forging - lower friction, eliminates stretching, galling, metal pick-up, lengthens die life;
splines - reduces wear and binding;
gears - stands up under high static or slow-moving loads. This product is typically used in applications with an operating range of -29°C to +400°C

o_Oo_Oo_O But I said 65%!!!o_Oo_Oo_O:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::whitstling: ^^^^^^

Well, ....actually ... I do
Chris runs a Business called Rotorcraft Services.
He built this from "out of hours" components.

The power-plant is a Rolls-Royce/Allison C20B type used in the Bell Jet Ranger and Hughes 500 helicopters.

Helicopter engine in a motorbike. Why not?

Now THAT is a ROCKET ! Woo Hoo !

I'd prefer to use the loctite, but it's not available here hence looking for something else that is up to spec for the Rocket.

John, do you think that this CV Joint stuff is up to the job of the Rockets drive shaft loading ?
Hi Paul,
I have been using I Hi Temp CV grease on the R3 splines for years with no issues..... always wet and slippery when it comes apart so couldn't be happier :D

From @warp9.9 when I asked the same question. Not used it yet but two tubes sitting in my garage.

Molykote g-n assembly paste. Only wear it says thin kote I even put a table spoon in the bottom of the spline cup. Inside is a wee messy but well lubricated :) used it on the Tomcats found it even better in the Rock Quarry on Cat's and barrious crusher equipment. So figer good enough for Warp Aerospace :D

I've been looking around here for a suitable drive shaft spline lube.
The local bike shop has found this for me.
Any thoughts as to if this is suitable.

MOTUL MOLYBDEN
Multipurpose Grease
Lithium – Extreme-Pressure
NLGI 2 – Reinforced with Molybdenum Disulphide
TYPE OF USE
Multipurpose grease specially recommended for civil engineering machinery working in severe
conditions : heavy load, repeated shocks, vibrations, presence of water and difficult
maintenance.
Greasing of roller bearings, articulations, bearings, hubs, ball joint, cables…

I never wanted to admit this but I use Tractor drive shaft grease . figure it must be heavy duty if it's for tractors ?
not only that , but it's a nice blue colour ! seems to work ok as I have a lovely smooth drive , and plenty left in there when I 're grease whilst changing the rear tyre ?
