I have no idea where the few photos I had are. Never took a camera or if there was one around you were always careful about wasting film. Seeing Bruce's has sure brought back some memories. I know I have somewhere a pic of my best mate on his RD350, brother's mate on his Ducati 450, me on a borrowed GT750 water bucket and my brother on a Z900 just after riding full pelt to Cootamundra in the middle of the night, freezing to death, thick fog. Can't say we enjoyed it but jeez it was fun.

Mob of us used to ride up to an old quarry just north of Gympie at least once a month for nearly a year. Set up camp at the top of this mountain, get half pissed and then .. roll down this treacherous narrow winding strip of bitumen with no engine running or lights turned on. The goal was to get to the bottom without touching your brakes. We were 19 0r 20 years old , mostly on 650/750 Triumphs , a couple of Honda 4's and one Kwaka 9. How we didn't kill or maim ourselves is a mystery .. lots of dropped bikes and quite a few bikes and riders went over the edges. *****Wheatley one of the nastiest bike cops that ever sucked wind was always waiting for us at the three garages at Morayfield on our way home Sunday mornings.

A few old pics

We called it RollyRacing still remember the sound of pipes and pegs scraping and the only other noise is tyres on the road, your chain and your mate behind you yelling at you trying to unnerve you. Still remember the feeling knowing you need to touch the brakes but knowing if you do you won't win. I'd have a heart attack if I tried it now. Good memories thanks T.C.

I was the bloke that always had a camera with me. Started out with little pocket thing with the cassette type film then a 35ml thing. Took better photo's but I did loose a role or 2 of exposed film at Bathurst. It was an automatic thing with motor drive and rewind. Opened it a couple of times when it hadn't rewound. I have hundreds of photos if I had digital back then I would have thousands. Remember getting them developed living in the country. Had to travell an hour and a half to Casino or Lismore drop the film off then go back a week later to pick them up and see what you took photos of and if there were any good ones. I was wrapped when 1 hour development started.

Yep its all coming back the photo developing thing, if you had any nudie ones (females) they wouldn't develop them ,I bet they kept a copy though, I would have,
some more pics at somewhere near Sofala we spent a few days there to let the cops cool down after Bathurst one Easter, they used to go back to their own commands on Wednesday after a piss up in town to Celebrate how many people they had harassed,that"s my princess with the sunnies on her one and only trip to Bathurst

You be a lucky bloke, Pete.
The dent in my Ninja tank looked similar to yours. My nuts were both purple grapefruit size for quite some time.
The broken back, hip, arm and foot were an inconvenience compared to the tube up my prick, in then out then in then out . . . . What torture it was!!!
I see you impacted the driver side of the front end and the car rotated clockwise coming to rest on the right side, which would be appropriate for his travel direction in OZ.
So you ended up in its lane??? Were you over the centerline, Mate?

:eek::p

Nothing worse than having that **** tube removed, not being able to start it up again and having a good looking nurse reinsert it:mad:. Pain.......
