3 mates with Wayne Gardner at the Castrol 6 Hour 1986.

Camped on the side of the Hyway just south of Dubbo on the way to Bathurst 1983. We got a visit from the local police about midnight this night apparently there was a total fire ban and we had a bit of a fire going for a bit of light and warmth. Put our fire out and left us in the dark and cold.

The caretakers stone house on the left hand side, we got to know the old bloke pretty well. He used to drop over once or twice a day and have a few beers with us. From memory Cecil or Cedric was his name. Be long gone now seemed like an old man back then to us in our early 20's. The white shed you can see inside the 8 foot chain wire fence was to do with a big radio antena that was there. The Ducati or Laverda club on the right. Camped there every year I went.
