2005 rocket with 3k miles on it any mods advise

I'd do oil change and filter .Old fuel out new in ,new battery and see if she fires up. Then you can sort the rest .

She coming together at last. Had all the chrome rusty bits and the wheels powdered coated starting to look good

Thanks guys I will defo do the EB relay for the headlights. Being new to the rocket I may have googled them to much and made me nervous but as the bike was only drove for two years and parked in a garage with no windows I may have more problems to worry about
The motorcycle has sat for 14 years?? You haven't said if it runs.

Depending on whether the gas tank was empty or not when it was stored, you may want to pull the fuel pump and refurbish before you give it a real start test. If the pump is gummed up you'll only succeed in testing your patience and battery capacity.

It was almost full all that time and there is no rust. Do you still think should pull out pump

If it were mine, I would really take a lot of things apart, not just the chrome looking ones. clean thoroughly , change gaskets, remove all signs of the previous old oil and gas, grease everything, assuming the engine is moving.

.....and all vacuum lines, mine were hard on my 06 so I'm sure these must be also.
