I have trouble with cold starting but you seem to have much bigger problem so this may not work for you, however my mechanic cousin solved it for me. The fuel pressure can drop off over long periods of none running, so he advised turning on the ignition for about 10 sec. before hitting the start button, this gives time for the pump to build up pressure. cranking it over will only make the problem worse by trying to inject fuel & therefore releasing pressure making it harder to build up pressure. It worked for me & costs nothing to try. Good luck anyway
That's why you want to test the pump. If you can't get it to squirt into a bottle, it won't squirt into the injectors either. You can pull the headlight fuse (if you don't have the EB cut-out option, (useful mod BTW)) and let it sit for about 30 seconds ignition on. If the pump is vapor bound it'll clear eventually. If the pump is OOC it won't build pressure at all. The problem could be as simple as the fuel filter being clogged, or the pressure regulator being gummed up. If you let gas go bad in the tank the problem starts in your tank. Your best bet is to remove the fuel pump assembly and start looking for the problem if it won't squirt gas.
