How Long Have You Owned Your Rocket

Well my first Rocket was bought in 2006 as a left over 2005 model. Rode it until 2018 when I got off it due to wife care and bad knees. Traded it in 2020 and have been trying to find the best replacement ever since. Ended up buying a used(?) 2023 GT (only had 132 miles on the odo) this year because nothing else comes close (enough).

I got one of the first ones delivered in Cental Fl. Ordered it in February of 2004 and took delivery in August of 2004. I still have it, it has 95,000 miles of it.

2 months haha. Had about a 25 year layoff due to family responsibilities. Substituted a convertible Camaro 2SS loaded and tuned to about 475hp. Now, all the kids are gone, weddings paid for, house paid for, wife off on her own hobbies and friends so I decided I needed some added JOY in my life with the years I have left. After doing my homework, the decision came down to a ‘26 GT vs a gorgeous matte red and black NOS ‘25 KZ14R. Even though I grew up on Japanese ****** rockets, I had a TKA two years ago so didn’t care for having my legs folded up under me. I’ve never had the cruiser foot forward position before and man, was it awkward at first, but now I’m used to it and love it. Love the advancements in tech, rider modes and fully adjustable suspension. Seat, bars and hand controls fit me great (I’m 6’-5”, 270lbs). I’ve discovered the factory “solo with loaded luggage” settings +1 click to 8 on the rear preload suit my weight about right. Getting the break- in service next week, weather is finally breaking here in Midwest USA so I’m raring’ to go. Have purchased factory pillion bag and black luggage rack in case I want to do some overnight trips. Loving this bike so far, no issues. I’ve had a ball filling out my new kit. I’m from the leather era so had to get a vest, leather shirt, deerskin and elkskin gloves all from Fox Creek Leathers. If you don’t know them, they are awesome high end quality at moderate prices. All materials and labor sourced locally. They are in Independence, VA. In honor of my Brit bike, got my first textile jacket with armor, the RST Ventilator Pro—marked down $100–a tremendous value. With its zip out insulated lining, it works down to about 40F. Very weird wearing an armored jacket but it fits and looks great. Glad to be back!
