like a previous poster, anything I should be wary about, start buying parts? I read a post on another site re' the ignitions switch Was he and anomaly or is it an issue?

The bike was garage kept and the owner purchased a gold wing. The bike sat and was on a trickle charge. I get it. The owner was conscientious about the bike.
Thoughts? This will be my around town bike for now. if I like it, I will get a new Rocket...

There were some that went bad
a lot of other guys did the headlights mod to take the headlights out of the ign circuit
some had problems with it popping out of 2nd gear and that should be checked on a hard road test.

I say ride it until something fails. There are so many smart people on this website that they will be able to steer you right If anything gets squirrelly.,They have taken these bikes down to every nut and bolt.

My 2007 in near pristine condition has the 2nd gear fix documented repair from the dealer with receipt and all paperwork . FYI, I purchased it from a member here.

I just brought it over to a local Honda dealer for consignment. A guy from Alabama seems interested, offer $5300 plus he has to ship it. The dealership did a FaceTime for him to start and run the bike, etc...
