Those of you using the Chromes, what pressure are you running. The website recommends 38 psi front and 44 psi rear for the regular cobras. Also, can you tell me whether the tires have wear bars and if so, where are they?

I can not really see them on the front tire in the picture on page 5 but here is a few and I see more on the rear. could be I'm just missing the ones on the front.

Another 250km on Avon Chrome rubber covered on Sunday with another R3 captain shod with AV71/72 Cobras. I felt I could easily close, carry more speed, go quicker through turns, change direction faster with the chrome tires, confidence in both grip and handling is ahead of that previously felt with the AV71/72 combination. We need to get more guys on these tires to get a broader cross section of feedback.

Cheers all.

Thanks for all of your input. I have a new front and waiting until I wear the Commander II down a little more before swapping out. I will report my opinion of it when I get the chance

The tires were set at 36 psi front and 40psi rear to start with (to help them bed in), I ran these pressures for the first 200km then raised them to 38psi front and 42psi rear (1 up) I am just slightly over 80Kg and those pressures are good for me - great feedback good grip and changing direction is effortless. I will increase both pressures a little as the tires wear but that is a long way off at this time.

I had a cobra chrome rear fitted recently due to getting a screw through my last avon cobra in an awkward place. It had only covered 15 miles as well from being fitted! So the comparison is between a new cobra, and a new cobra chrome.
I am running the normal avon cobra 140/75 front tyre still.

The bike feels more agile on the cobra chrome, quicker turn in and faster direction changes. It makes the bike feel quite a bit lighter. The weather has been cold and wet so havent had a chance to push it to see what it is like closer to the limits but I would say that it is a big improvement over the older tyre, much more of a difference than I was expecting.

Would the new Chrome on a front pair well with an Exedra Max on the rear?
