I have just had a set of shockies fitted and the forks are being done as we speak. I took the bike in to Walter, the YSS guy, last week so he could suss it out as he hasn't done a R3T before. I should have the forks back early next week and once fitted I will be going on a ride next weekend. Will post up a report after the ride. Cost for shocks $900, fork springs + PD valve + fitting($100) $464.
Looking forward to your report. Please include part numbers if possible. I've got my motor running well, but the suspension needs some attention. I've been running a set of used Progressive 440s that I picked up when one of my stock shocks developed a leak but I think there are better options out there. And the front end really needs help. I probably got spoiled after too many years on Ohlins equipped BMWs.
well, finally got the shocks set up correctly, I eventually had to adjust the preload, something they told me should not be needed but I reckon they made an error when setting it up, anyway, the result is good, they're not ikons but for the price give me a smoother ride and better handling particularly in the bends. The forks are also smoother, especially at low speed, all in all a worthy excercise
