You're just plain wrong. It IS an every day ride and the perfect commuter. Name me 1 thing that makes unsuitable for that. OK, a little hot sitting in traffic in summer, but that's it if you actually have got to know your bike. And sorry to disappoint you but the Rocket doesn't require any special skill, but it does need a little practice (and respect). It therefore isn't the ideal bike for those who ride infrequently or are tentative. I'm especially glad it's a niche bike and would hate to see them all over the place. The Rune was a flop not because of it's size but because it looked ridiculous.

You can call me an idiot if it makes you feel better about yourself. Doesn't bother me one bit.

The Rocket is a niche bike partly because of the misconception that you need some sort of special skill or ability to ride one and partly because a 2300cc bike isn't everyone's cup of tea. In Australia at least, annual registration is pretty much the same as for a car and so is fuel consumption and tyres aren't cheap. A lot of people buy bikes to save money. Also, Triumphs generally have not been on best seller lists. Just because it isn't actually as hard to ride as some people think doesn't mean more people will actually want one. No contradiction in anything I said.

Tangs sister-in-law was told to "find another Godfather for your son" when told Tang had bought a Rocket 3. "Rocket 3"s are deadly and kill a lot of blokes that buy them" .. this ***cin stupid statement was made by a Bonnie rider. What a dickhead. By the way Tangs 6 foot 6 inches tall and weighs 140 kilos, been riding fast motorbikes all his life. If this is the info fellow Triumph riders are spreading little wonder Rockets aren't selling better than they are.

Speaking of the Rocket as a niche bike, I think the actual stock power numbers do scare folks. People always ask about the numbers, of course, and I'd had several seasoned Harley guys say 'whoa, that would scare me' when hearing about the Rocket's HP and torque. As we know, there's a massive difference between spending big bucks to almost or barley achieve 100hp and what our Rockets put out stock.

Are we on to another t-shirt idea here? Maybe I'll try out the phrase at next local Harley/bike event: "Harley Davidson is for those who wish for more wind in their vagina."

On second thought, maybe I'll stick to my more usual "Harley's.... beautiful bikes.... even owned one prior to the Triumph.... cool skulls ya got there.... "
