Why did Triumph strangulate the early Roadsters?

lol....Maybe the wait will get too much anyway, 1 year up in September when the bike will likely be off the road, replaced with the KTM....I'll have plenty of time to do stuff....

I do like the idea of a custom 3 to 1 header with no reduction and a carbon tri-oval can on the end...

Here's an update.
**** - I'm annoyed with Triumph.
I have now got the proper, recent, standard Roadster tune in my 2012 bike and it has transformed it.
But that's two years I've had while it was under warranty of driving a bike that was as flat as a fart in the first 3 gears. What possessed them? I don't get this 'reason' that Triumph want people to buy the new Roadster not update their existing ones. Most 2011/2012 Roadster owners will not come on here, will not read threads like this and will think 'I ain't buying another one of these - my old HD was just as quick off the mark'
aaaaaargh

.... and here's a note of warning for 2011/12 Roadster owners thinking of updating to the 20685 tune (until recently this was thought to be the derestricted tune for the standard bike, but I have seen some threads with a later number). Anyway 20685 downloaded OK into the bike but the bike didn't like it at all and wouldn't initialise. So I edited my original 20352 to be the same as 20685 (2nd throttles all at 100% in first 3 gears), and it loaded fine .... and what a machine it is now. 3rd gear is now a delicious gear for UK country roads :)

Don't you know it! I seldom drop into 4th unless I know the road is going to straighten out a little :)

Glad to hear you've got the ummmph you should have had from the outset
