Where is the Triumph north america staff!?

Call a dealer in the states (near Canada) to see if they'll do the recalls if the local shop is crap. You can reflash the ECU and tune the throttle bodies yourself if you have a Tuneboy. I do most of my own work on the Rocket because my nearest dealer is 2+ hours away.:D

No,taking it back to the States that would cause more problems than its worth, he says the bike is already in Canada and bringing it back down to the states again unregistered would create a nightmare.
Find a good bike mechanic where you live that will sign off your recalls, you can use any mechanic as RIV does not care about that.
It does not have to be a triumph mechanic.
Riv will accept proof showing that any certified mechanic has completed the fix of all the recalls.
With that proof shown to RIV you should be good to go to any Canadian Tire to get the RIV signed off.
Ask RIV for a time extenstion, they are good about giving you that as long as you ask for it.

Ohh, sounds good, I thought the bike needed a lettre from triumph. I'll fax them my receipt from the dealer, maybe that'll help. I'll see

Edit : I'm just off the phone with the RIV and triumph. The lad that returned my call said that the dealer was correct and that they didn't give a feck that I get my bike back in an unusable state and they I wouldn't do ****e, so know I know where they stand when you tell them their dealers suck balls.

AS for the RIV, they did confirm I could just fax them the receipt and that would take care of it, so that's already a start. I'm going to fax it tonight and have that cleared.

Keep us updated, I would be interested in how this all turns out for you.

Congradulations on your new purchase. Don't you get the warm fuzzies all over when you think about any upcoming experiences you may have with your local dealer?

thanks lad. Well, I do get warm fuzzies when I think about all the fun I'll have riding her about, but thinking about the dealer is somewhat of a dis-pleasant feeling I fear...

But amazingly, I faxed my receipt yestarday night at about 8pm and this morning they had processed my request at the RIV, the form was available to print... I am baffled. If only it weren't so **** cold outside (-4 celcius as of now), I could finish the importation process by driving her to canadian tire....

Well, at least that went well... and my K&Ns have arrived at the customs this morning, so I should get them very soon... At least it isn't all bad I suppose...

Sounds like its coming together :D.....I fear there is a pattern to Triumph and how they are handling the recent customer requests......sounds like it might not be long before they bail and head back across the pond!! Maybe....maybe not.........lets see if they like making money in North America!

Yes, they definitely need to up the ante if they want to have any hope at remaining in business here... I mean, I explained the whole situation to the lad who returned my call, and he just stood there, silent, after telling him they didn't do the recall properly and left me with a limping bike... Didn't find anything abnormal, didn't even apologise for the service I received... I just hung up after a while, because I felt I was talking to a stone or something.. And I know I repeat myself but what kind of business doesn't have a toll free number and email communication with their clients...

Anyway, got the K&Ns installed this morning, but I couldn't upload the new tune (I reckon my VW cable is too recent, as it's made for Vag-Com 10.6 which is in essence a cable for modern CAN-BUS VW ECUs. My mate's going to lend me his old cable tonight so I can do that. Hope it all goes well...

Triumph does not like Canadians:D I have had no problem with Triumph what so ever even with my bike three years out of warranty they still stood behind it and supplied me free of charge with all the parts I needed when my ignition switch started acting up:D Best service out of any motorbike company I have ever dealt with.

Maybe it's just a yankee thing scot..
Wait a minute, are Canadians considered yankees?
i think they're too far North to be yankees..
just a crappy dealer guy, sorry.
Congrats on th bike tho.
