Where are all you Harley Haters on this one..

I don't "hate" Harleys; my son rides one.

But he's young, and isn't experienced enough to be aware of how much better a Triumph is.

I don't get it either. Hard to try to figure out what these companies are thinking. Poor OLD Harley has been copied by practically every manufacturer out there. I remember when Triumph switched to the weird firing configuration, to give their twin, a "lope" sound, "like a Harley". Give me a break. About the same as mounting a tape recorder and speaker, playing the sound of a Harley running! ????? Like said above, if you're gonna follow, you'll never lead................. I own a Harley, that is growing cob webs, since I bought my 2013 RocketR. I love the sound of my 3 cylinders, especially since I put the TORS on. It has a "growl" unlike anything else out there. Triumph just doesn't quite seem to know which direction they want to go. They've sunk tons of money into the Rocket, stream-liner, etc. etc. But they don't seem to push it much. Been out since 2005, but you still don't see many on the roads?

The Rocket111 has been out since 2004 in this version.

Having had the 2010 Tbird 1700...there is plenty of differences between the Triumph and the Harley. Harley pretty much only makes V-twins, the Triumph Thunderbird (either version) is a parallel twin, water cooled, more HP, more torque...to me way better looking, paint is as good and just like the Rocket, Harley riders still come around to see what kind of bike it is. If I could have another second bike...I'd go for another 1700 Tbird.

I love Dad's T-bird in Red Marble Haze.... To the point that I told him the bike will never be sold - just inherited. It's an awesome bike just a little lacking in power compared to my Rocket but a pleasure to ride. I like the changes to the 2014 lineup but still prefer the standard t-bird better.

Cant see what's wrong with Triumph stealing market share from all the others.

If folk WANT that look - Give it to them. The customer is king. It's called business.

I wonder how many "Wing" owners would be lured away if they did a full blown faired tourer?
Want innovation - make a 2.300 diesel automatic with excellent weather protection.

Tell you this - if BMW did one - they'd sell loads for being innovative. Triumph does it everybody will criticise that it's not sporty enough. I think Honda are simply worried about being too avant garde. But I'd bet you they'd offer an auto wing in a flash if anybody else does and it takes sales.

The T'bird is also MUCH lower than an R3. When I bought my R3 my dealer's run around was a T'Bird. Handles VERY well.

As for V-Twins - I love'em - though Guzzi style. Had Ducati's too. Had a Harley - one was enough. Simply not me.

Finally the voice of reason:thumbsup:

I personally don't dislike Harley's it is just that they don't do it for me and the ergo's don't suit my body, I actually think that some of their models are quite good looking

I confess I owned and rode harley for basically 11 years the last one being a fatboy 2000 last of the carburated engines. was nice a bit sluggish but nice had a fabulous quick release back rest .but i sold it due to a mechanical problem in 2008 that H-D would not acknowledge the rest is history.
