Vibration issue above 3000rpm

Yes, it is strange stuff. My vibration came on instantly while riding, like if say for instance, the engine was rubber mounted (Hardley), and while riding, the rubber mount popped out, and left the engine riding on the frame! Like I said, I pulled off the side of the road and parked, and looked all over. Saw nothing obvious. It's still there, I've just been ignoring it. I think it has something to do with the clutch. She's still smoother than either of my 2 Hardley Sportsters, and not quite as buzzy as my Kawasaki ZRX1200r. Arthritis (RA) is kicking my ass, and the main reason I ain't going to tear into her, as long as she's still going strong. In my hands it does cause a problem on longer rides. Gets kinda hard to keep a tight grip, while at the same time, hard to open my hands. Ahh old age!

With sudden onset it is almost certainly a lost bolt or something was loose and shifted.
I doubt clutch, then you'd feel it in the lever distinctly.

I would take it to a dealer and have them do the 100+ point safety check, just to make sure it's nothing that could develop into something worse.

I think i will take it to the dealer, and have it checked out. If that doesn't help, maybe i'll try that bar snake stuff

Good luck with the snake! The vibration dampers are bolted to a piece of metal that is welded to the inside of the handle bars and the drilled and tapped to accept the dampers. You would have to grind it out of the way!

I bought mine with 6000 miles on her and it did the same as yours i now have over 30000 and i don't even notice it. i guess the moral of the story is u get used to it. on mine i could raise the rpm to 3000 in neutral and feel the vibration then if i take my little finger and start to barely pull the clutch lever the vibes would go away. My personal opinion is the clutch basket is a little loose and when u pull the lever a little it centers it up and the vibes goes away.
some say that there are tunes that u can put into the ecu that smooths the bike out i don't remember if they are talking about this problem or not. hth herman

I THINK its the clutch release mechanism that is causing the vibes and it centers it self when you take the free play out by pulling in the clutch

On most vehicles, that slight vibration/noise when the car is in neutral that goes away when the clutch is engaged is either the throw out bearing or the actuator fork for the bearing slight vibrating. Usually it's a non issue from a safety or performance perspective. It sometimes can indicate a badly adjusted clutch system. My rocket has done it since it has 1 mile on the clock, aka the first time I stared it, as did my firebird, my fully built race motor in my last toy, and my ford rabger. Many people can't even detect it.

In this case, I highly doubt it is in anyway related to the OP issue.
