There is not, sadly. The only fix is adjusting the gauge angle so the sun strikes it differently. I had the same issue when I lived in HI.

Or make some shade tubes from plastic food tubs or shake containers to bury the dial face from the direct sun. Permanent or temporary.
If desperate buy a Smoothie or two from Maccas and once the slurping and washing out and your chosen decoration is done......... they will be as cute as Southern Belles in their bonnets or just plain ugly as
