Trying The Fork Seal Job Myself

When Triumph replaced my fork lowers 3 years ago I had them fit some progressive fork springs and asked about changing to a heavier fork oil and was advised by one of the mechanics who has done extensive training on setting up suspension for race bikes that the ride would become harsh, instead he advised that they put a Top Shelve Oil which would hold up better under pressure, I am happy I listened

same here i ask the same thing at the dealer got same advice so i got the full synthetic motul folk oil because i don't intend to change it in along time and happy with its' better than what was in there before
 
I was thinking about going to either a 7.5 weight or 10 weight. I was leaning towards the 7.5 weight after reading about it. So you guys think a high quality 5 weight is better ? I have a set of springs I got a few years ago from Patriot Suspension in California. They are tapered like the Progressive springs.
 
Yup if that is the Standard weight as I said I took the advice given and have not regretted it!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
In if fact I could not fault the front end on a overnight run with 11 mates out to Grenfell over some of the bumpiest narrow windy backroads just this last Wednesday/Thursday we were pushing along at fairly good pace and front remained planted, the roads were bumpy enough to upset the Tyre Pressure Monitor Sensors communication to the Garmin 395 and yet I didn't cop the bumps or rattle my fillings. If I had gone to a heavier weight (as I had originally planned) I dare say I would have coped a hiding and been looking for my fillings :whitstling::)
