I have a tune currently that opens the secondarys and removes the timing restrictions. If I do triple filters and a tune to match, how noticable will this be in the seat of my pants?

It depends on the filters as some have built in velocity stacks and some do not. and there are a couple being testted with velocity stacks both OEM and one produced by Velocity of sound. I would hold off a little bit as you might see something coming up you like better.

If you're talking usual triple K&N's, you can expect another 10-15 HP from switching from the stock exhaust plumbing to triple filters. You will need to a new tune or map for this as you will be introducing way more air, which will require more fuel. I have thought about it doing this for many years, but it does had extra intake noise and tends to move the torque peak up in a bit in RPMs.. Generally, a Rocket with triple filters and a freer flowing exhaust (Jardine.. etc..) will put out dyno numbers in the 150+ range..

So I ordered the filters and they showed up yesterday. No time to put them on as I had my daughters birthday party. Got a call for work at 5am, put on my headset, and talked my team through an issue while I put on the filters and wrestled the bear claw back on.

My kids got up and I got them off to school, dropped the new tune on, and took it for a spin. It sounds like I have two motors now. There's an almost buzz saw type sound at certain RPMs. I didn't have a chance to open it up at all as it's prime school hours but so far so good.

I take it you also ordered the two little filters, for the air temp and crankcase breather

I have one on the air temp sensor. The breather is still hooked tot he stock airbox with the stock filter within.

I rode in today and the buzz saw sound is more related to throttle position, You can only hear at some point until the exhaust drowns it our but for a split second I thought it was something vibrating at first. I'm pretty sure it's the normal intake sound though.

when you take the old filter out and want use it for a storage area as most of us have you will need the breather filter or you will get a oily film on anything you put in there
