Yes, I had the second gear failure, there's a circlip that comes loose and the gears can move around and engage in the wrong places. I had Carpenter Racing, not a dealer, pull the transmission and send it to Robinson Industries, who replaced almost everything, back cut the dogs, and installed a billet 4th gear, that's right around the same cost I encountered, but it's been rock solid since, probably a better deal than what the dealer is doing. Robinson also cuts a deeper groove for the circlip and installs a heavier circlip.
