Top tier works extremely well at keeping injectors and intake valves clean. The best of the top tier are (in order of the most cleaner added): Shell, BP, Exon. for high test and Exon, BP, Shell for regular grade. I always try to use only the top of top tier in all my vehicles. Inspected the intake valves in my Mini at 100K and they looked brand new, my Rocket also new at 20K. Now before I get tramped on, all fuels contain cleaners to meet EPA requirements, but top tier fuels have extra additives to ensure a cleaner engine. So open your wallets and spend a couple cents extra per gallon (for top tier gas), your engine will thank you later!
I stopped going there years ago, the card readers they use are beyond aggravating. I'll have to stop and see the grade "Oh Yeah" though, it might be worth going there from now on.
When I had the intake off my 2006, the intake ports, and valves, looked like they had just been installed. I was amazed. I only run Shell "rec-gas" non-ethanol.
I'm very glad that it was stated that it's the additives/detergents/cleaners that are better for your engine and we didn't get into the whole high Octane is better!!
