2015 rocket 3 top valve cover gasket replace

No. The gasket seats on the head, held in place using the raised sides of the gasket. It's not just floating there on top as you work.

When the cover in under the frame and just sitting on top, before torqueing, I always go around to make sure it didn't get shifted as a just in case check.
 
Do you attach the gasket with rtv to the top cover then install it torque it down

All good thanks again for the help. Went for a rid this morning no more leaks just in time to put it away for the winter lol.

Looks good. Gasket is seated nicely with no bulges.

One item I forgot to mention that you might find beneficial. Try and measure the valve clearances whenever you pull the VC... for me, it gives some peace of mind and an idea how clearances are maintaining. Just a suggestion not a requirement.
