HEY!!!!! Can you tell me some steps? I'd LOVE to NOT have a dealer do my oil change! I'm a mechanical moron, but I'm getting better all the time with help from brothers that have some talent for that sort of thing.

Get a flipmeister stand, tourqe wrench,3/8 drive Allen keys and the three crush washers you need for the drain plugs. You can reuse the washers, but nice to have them on hand in case you get a bur on one you can replace it. Now that you have this new equiptment you can also change your bevel box oil and all other fluids that require your bike to be upright. The stand is good for storing your bike too. It take most of the weight off the tire and suspension. Most of the maintance is pretty easy and can save you money.
Oh yea get a triumph service manual!

Only put 5 qts oil in. Then run it until it's good and warm. Then wait 5 mins, check the oils and top off the rest (prob not even a half qt).

You can;
A. get snippy and learn nothing
B. find a manual and learn something
C. do like I do and just figure it out.

Easiest would be refer to your owner's manual or the shop manual.
Can get a pdf shop manual file from @idk.
There are three drain plugs, remove and drain.
Remove filter (chrome thingy sticking out from right front of engine)
Buy 6 quarts Mobile T4 syn and a new filter.
Do NOT over tighten the drain plugs (snug + a tad more).
Replace new filter (snug + a tad more).

Many do and are happy with it.
Some feel it made their engines more noisy.
I use Mobil 1 10w-40 Racing T4 motorcycle oil.

I am with bull, I run Mobil 1 Racing 4T motorcycle oil. I also use the Mobil 1 filter but I am sure any quality oil and filter would work fine. I went with Mobil because the nearest place to get Castrol was the stealership or wait for the Big Brown Truck to deliver it. Maybe I am not an oil connoisseur because I really can't tell a difference between the Castrol or Mobil and I am not afraid to admit it.

Right on, Bob!
I (not an oil expert) feel we should run MC oil for its special properties and for our wet clutches.
I chose the Mobil 1 MC 4T full syn because it is plentiful everywhere and even rated by Amsoil's own testing as the top oil behind theirs!

You do realize that just about any O'Rilleys or Auto Zone typically carries our brand of Castrol, right? I get mine there and just use K&N filters.

Yea, went to one of each close to home, "we can get it for you by tomorrow if it is in the warehouse". The Mobil 1 was on the shelf.

Besides until the big donation, Castrol was not Triumph's recommended oil, was it?
