tomtom has taste - must view

A GPS would be useful but 99% of the time I'm riding I don't really care where I'm going
So long as there's a gas station every 200 miles
If I do get lost my mission is accomplished :D
Most rides are for the ride not the destination
At least in my world

Nice Triumph commercial. I too think I'd be p!ssed if my GPS led me to a dirt road :)

The price of a dedicated MC GPS is ridiculous. I have a regular Garmin Nuvi on my R3 which has a bigger screen and cost me $120 with lifetime maps. I can afford to replace it 3 or 4 times for the cost of a bike unit.

a few I know who had tom/tom lost reception going down a major highway took 40 to 50 miles before they got it back. never lost reception with my garmin don't know if they upgraded or not have to agree with a few if you get lost so what keep riding

Nice unit... But screw paying $600AUD for one:eek:

I agree, what I did about 6 months ago is purchase an app for my iphone called copilot gps live. Cost me about $20 if I remember correctly. What it does is download the maps to your device which means you don't need your data plan running to use the gps. Map updates are free for life. I set my destination, throw my phone in my tank bag and connect via bluetooth to my helmet and just listen to the directions. My buddy just completed a bike trip from coat to coast and the app worked flawlessly. He was looking at the TomTom and went with the app, he won't look back. Too many features for a post so here is a link;
