Well, you are right about it being both less money and less expensive, tekardi, the two graetest advantages of a CT over a MT, for sure. But, more control??? That's a fool's bet!

The only difference between you and me on this subject is that I deal in facts, not some tinhat religion, aka blind faith. I believe that folks should have both side of the CT vs. MT coin available for their inspection so that they can make their own informed decisions. It's been stated many times over that at the end of the day, I don't care what any other person chooses to ride on.
Are personal insults really necessary. Mac? You should quit while you're behind, pal! Many of your own posts do nothing so well as indict you.

To Dark, or Not too Dark...?
To tell you the Grandmother's truth... I am not a real Dark Side bandwagon master. All of my sport bikes run on high quality MT and if i had a Rocket III i would most likely use an MT because ofcourse I need assurance that when I get sweet & low on the pavement the bike is gonna' go where I say...tracking correctly. I would not change the manufactured set-up, except maybe try to go a tiny bit wider.
But i have a Rocket Touring and I am getting tired of riding wheelies and showing off. I did it and it was fun, but i just want to go straight on this bike with hard acceleration and the CT is just better at this. That is a fact.
Control: I agree that controlling the bike in general would be better with a MT, but that control is limited to the times when you are not wide open from a dead stop, and not braking with a requirement to stop immediately. It just depends on how important those 2 items are for you. At 860+ pounds the R3T does a pretty good job of ignoring the contact patch of a speeding rider

Tekardi, if you want to continue to put a motorcycle tyre on your motorcycle I strongly recommend you try the Bridgestone Exedra Max on the rear (and an Avon Cobra on the front). If your going to swap out any motorcycle parts for car parts, I can't help you.
By the way, looking at your pics, I'd get rid of that rear tyre asap but the front looks like it's got a fair bit in it still.

Thank you Camberra , I just read you are going to have a Rocketeers meeting in Australia hope to do something like that in Argentina ...but if there are 3 Rockets in total would be too much..... you are in summer like here what temperature in centigrees you reach at his time? Because here we could have 33 to 40 and is very unpleasant to rode at that temperature with the beast, thank you all for your reviews

I recommended this Bridgestone Potenza to a fellow R#T rider a few years back and he loved it: Bridgestone*Potenza G 019 Grid
He was a four season rider out in my neck of the woods, though, so there are undoubtedly other good tires for you to choose from for your expressed purposes.
