Since the Rocket III Touring does not come with cruise control I would like some ideas about real good throttle lock or control devices.

I have used the Kaoko throttle lock, crampbuster and know about Flipmeisters throttle lock option. What I am trying to get the feel for is the best overall throttle lock (or even cruise control options) that are available that have been used/tested in the real world by Rocket III Touring motorcycle specialists (that's you guys).

Thanks in advance.

I have the breakaway throttle control and like it very much... it did require me to make a slightly longer bracket which I have posted the drawing in another post...

I'd be happy to meet you in Tallahassee sometime (it's about half way) if you wanted to try it...

I have a Throttlemeister also. One thing I have noticed when I have used the heated grips, it stiffens up.

Watcher may chime in, he has a cruise control that he likes.

I have the Brakeaway throttle lock, it had been added by a previous owner. It seems to work pretty good, I only used it extensively on one really long ride. I wasn't used to it and I had a little trouble getting it to release a couple of times which could be a little dangerous in heavy traffic. I think they cost about $200.

I have the Manic Salamander throttle lock and find I don't use it as it is difficult to set...plus it slips on the grip... I bought it for the wrong reason- looks instead of functionality. expensive mistake!!

Make sure whatever you get it disengages when you apply the brakes. I have a throttle lock that very simply winds off when you decelerate. Works great except when you grab the brake in a panic stop, which I did, and the back wheel keeps driving and the front wheel locks. Not fun at 120 on the highway. These type of locks should only be used for a few seconds to give your hand a rest and not as a defacto cruise control. Almost ended in disaster for me.

I have the McCruise and love it yes it coast but it is by far the best set up I have had no this bike all digital nothing to get stiff or cause you throttle to lock up keeps speed with in a mile or less ya I did not want to spend the money on it but now I'm glad I did well worth it just my opinion

I jus looked up the McCruise, you weren't whistling Dixie when you said it cost...almost a thousand dollars...does look nice and it does do cruise control duties besides just giving your wrist a break.
