Thinking about buying a Rocket

What colour is the Roadster? Good one.
Sorry, bit of an in joke. With all the improvements with the roadster also came the removal of colour options. They are all black - matt black or gloss black. More recently a couple of stripes were added - white on the matt black and red on the gloss black. Still very Model T but at least a spash. The stripes were more or less compensation for the addition of more and more blacked out bits. The Rocket X seems to be the culmination of the monochrome dream.

grampi, I wanted the Rocket because of the power and once you ride one, its instant addicted. I'm 57 and have'nt had that feeling since I was 16.
I too had a problem of the bike looking like a grampas bike, or I like to say bike. To solve this I chopped mine up and customised it with the Mad Max/Naked look........ now it works for me.

How's that for an 'ol man riding a 350kg machine. They were all amazed and couldn't stop raving about how well I ride. When in fact, the bike did all the work because with so much power, its easy to win.

Don't know what pipes they are but I suspect TORS.

I sash cut about 400 mm off the ends using a little angle grinder fitted with a very thing cutting blade. Not as simple as it sounds though as I had to hacksaw the baffles in half and delicately re-weld them back together with the correct fitting ends to ensure a snug tight fit down the tubes. Then carefully slice the thread wound fibreglass baffle surrounds in half longways and shorten them to fit the pipes and slide them on.

Not hard work but it needs to be done slowly and carefully. Anyone can do it with a home welding machine.
