Test Rode a Triumph Tiger Explorer

i had a brand new 80 mile top spec loaner of my dealer a couple of months ago while the rocket was being checked for a dodgy gear box ?.
any how,i had an explore xc that bent bang at 5000miles,so i thought this would be interesting to ride.
as soon as i went up the road i noticed how hard/notchey the gearbox was, actuly it was ****ing **** for a brand new engine.
anyhow i done a few hundred miles on it the next couple of days, and to my surprise the gearbox was still **** as if it was n olde nail dragged from an old shed.
when i gave the bike back to the dealer i commented on the box,to be told theres nowt wrong with it.
so i did a bit of investergating fron a machanic i know from another triumph dealer and he said .
the gearbox is known to be **** because of the oil ways are not big enough to get the oil around, and also there is an issue in the usa regarding this.

Here's how I roll.......

I'm happy as pig in mud on mine the gear box is smooth except for a little clunky 1st and 2nd other wise like butter, the cruise controll is awesome if you use it properly not like a cars one, mine already had the Rox Risers which lift 2 inch and allow you to move the bar forward or back, the seat is ten times better than the std Rocket one was and the fly by Wire while touchy at first is was very quickly mastered .... no more arm pump!

Took my rocket in for a general service, everything but the tune as I did it there with my laptop, but on arrival, the manager thru me the keys to a Thruxton 1200r.......well, I take delivery of it on Tuesday, and only because I could see my rocket getting lonely at night IMG_0125.JPG
