Talked to Carpenter Racing

Let us know what you find out.
Ok, all you guys that have done all this work, I'm up to suggestions. I have a stock 2008 R3 Touring. Only mods are cosmetic. Have always thought about tuning and exhaust but never could decide what to do. Also have had a Gi Pro ATRE on my Christmas list for years. What would be, in your opinion, the best first move in making the bike better? Sounds like the Gi Pro is the simplist.

I agree with Steel and had I went that route from the beginning I'd still have around $500.00 in my pocket. In hindsight $4,400.00 for the Carpenter turn key 210 kit would have been the best way to go. There would be no more chasing ponnies. Just one time and I'm done. My update will be coming when the weather here breaks.

Yes, but then what tune to use on a complete stock R3t......
Copy your stock tune and save it in your computer.
You can then tweak the tune that's already in your bike.
I don't remember what tables to copy then paste into the lower gears tables. (I'm sure somebody will chime in).
Also go into the secondaries and set them to stay open 100% through the rev range.

This won't add actual HP, since that's tested in 4th gear, but it will unleash the power in the first three gears.

After the GI Pro......Open the pipes $0. K&N's less than $50. Dobeck $150 ....$200 tops and she'll scream. If you like computers as much or better than riding, do the TuneECU / Tune Edit route.

What everyone needs to realize with the Carpenter kits is the only way to hit the high horse power is with their pipe which is extra. And worth it if you ask me. Others have gone without the pipe using thing like the Jardines or the preds and the power was down some just like you might lose a little depending on what air filters you use. not bad the typical Rocket with predators and the 240 kit comes in around 228 hp. very respectful and I imagine a handfull to control. It really depends on what yoru looking for. You can install a TTS kit and get 240 hp but if you were to line up a Carpenter 240 bike and a TTS bike the carpenter one will beat it in the quarter because of the rpm advanatge in each gear. Not that the TTS aint a blast to ride thats what I started with.. But then addiction sets in and the wallet gets thinner :D
