Talked to Carpenter Racing

Did you add different pipes, or just a tune? When I added Jardines, K&N filters, and a retune, the difference over stock was almost as dramatic as the Carpenter kit was over the Jardines.

To those who like to make little comments about someone they don't know, or their bike from the safety of being at home in front of a computer typing on a keyboard, well that just about sums it up. I guess when someone is struggling and is thinking about throwing the towel due to it's not working out the way they thought it would that some folks instead of having some sort of compassion they resort to what I'm reading in here. I was taught that if you don't have something nice to say to keep my mouth shut. Having said that Warp I still have all my stock parts, but thank you and to Wayne I made no other mechanical changes other than what was previously done. It was a comparrison between a custom map with a PCIII and two TuneECU maps(Bones Super Tune and 20050 TORS + Tripples) with the PCIII zero'd out. Unless something was missed the bike had more torque in the lower RPM's stock than with any of these maps. Sure it comes to life at 4,000, but from off idle until you get there the bike feels slow. From what I've spent on all this I'm almost half way to Carpenter 210 mod. Should have went that route to begin with, but funds were not available to pull the string.
Not that I have to explain myself to anyone, but I'm pretty sure I know a little bit about making power seeing as a car I own has a BB Chevy that makes 534HP to the wheels in a 3,800lb street car that runs low to mid 11's at the track on 93 pump gas. It's cabable of being in the 9's if it was on the spray, but I'd have cut up a beautiful car to do it. I just stopped in here to see what someone would have to say and I never expected for one moment to read some of the BS that was posted about me. Prior to this my experience with this site had been nothing, but a positive. To who it applies to thanks for reaffirming that society today is truely self absorbed. Go ahead and blast away. I won't be here anymore for you to have fun with at other folks expense.

Sayonora!

Too bad you outsmarted yourself.
"From what I've spent on all this I'm almost half way to Carpenter 210 mod. Should have went that route to begin with..."

Hope you have better better luck with your next "turd"! No doubt it will be a bona fide one.
"I've avoided all things from The Motor Company my whole life due to lot's of reasons, but maybe I'll have to join the fray."

Speed, I could find only one post in this thread that was anything less than positive. I certainly hope you didn't take exception to anything I posted. I thought this was a good discussion.

Well now, following your harsh comments I went back and re-read my post.
Hope it wasn't one you be speaking of - sure didn't seem condescending to me.
If it was, please let me know and I shall refrain comments to you in the future.

Not to be condescending in any way here. Speed as I read your posts I get the feeling you may be depressed over this. I hope not, but that feeling is strong to me in your posts. Sorry your efforts did not work out as you hoped.

Bill.

On a similar note:

I had the same feeling when I added the Nev cams. I could see a gain on the top end of the rpms but no change in torque. A Power Trip tune unleashed the low end significantly. The low end is why I elected to go with a super charger instead of a Carpenter kit or even a turbo from Boost is Good.

AND, BTW, the 06 Standard runs now with the SC installed. I got to hear her for the first time yesterday. She had a really nice rip rip rip at idle. I sure hope the sound stays but I have a feeling it will go away with the tune changes when she goes on the dyno in a few days. Everything is finished except the dyno. I already have someone with lined up in Dallas who was recommended by Neville. Nev and the dyno guy are conversing to make sure (hopefully) everything works without melting pistons first. Can't wait to experience serious torque. 250fp would be sweet.

I have great faith in Nev, he really knows his sh*t.
If mods are only mild cams, brute & S/C you will do well to reach 250ftlb imho.
Stripes the increase in torque will be substantial anyway,
enjoy it but take care it doesn't bite you

I don't plan on getting bit. I wouldn't mind a nibble.....just enough to keep the excitement level high. Don't want to use it all up and have to do more.

Tri... Nev says he fitted a rocket with almost the same hardware and tune and got 275hp. Don't remember how much torque he said. Hopefully similar numbers will result.

It is great both gurus on both sides of the world are so willing to help us. Nev has taken extra time out of his busy schedule to get this project finished. Lush Racing and Powertrip are the top notch tuners for the little guy, bar none.
