Yesterday my GF and I had some time to kill so we took a ride to St. Pete Powersports. They had both a Tourer and a Roadster in stock as well as a few T Birds including a Storm. I was all but dead set on buying an R3 Roadster until my GF started expressing her opinion She LOVES the T-Bird and HATES the looks of the R3 Normally she never has much to say in such matters but, DAYUM she loves the T Bird. Maybe I'll have to buy a T Bird................FIRST!!
 
If you're torn between the TBird and Roadster, one of them has the wrong riding position for you. Just depends what type of bike you want. Personally I'd find the Roadster set up all wrong and the TBird too slow. For me, the R3 Standard/Classic is a much better option than either.
 
Tired out twins

Im with Canberra...I can make a twin of vertical or v-design tired in short order. Ive 30+k on a R3 Classic Tourer that has as much muscle today as the day it was inaguarated. Absolutely, Id love a T-Bird in my stable. But, massive torque...thats the ticket.
 
Jolly good to have an old lady whose answer ain't always "honey don't!" And, you know something? She might be right. Having switched from the Rocket to the T'Bird, I'd say the latter although a bit less exciting to ride is much easier to live with (yes, I know, I am 62).

As a long time Rocket owner, I will say that the T-Bird does have atleast one advantage over the Rocket. If I'm not mistaken, Triumph figured out how to do away with the throttle position sensor and secondary throttle plates on the T-Bird.
 

I ride sportbikes as well as my Fatbob. I also ride a friends BMW touring bike sometimes when he's away on business. I just adapt to the bike I'm currently on and I'm fine. The Thunderbird feels VERY similar to my Fatbob, the R3 is taller with a more upright riding position. I'd probably want the more forward, Tourer floorboards and controls.

All that said, I REALLY thought I had my Fatbob would be sold over the weekend but it didn't So right now all is a very moot point

Buy what you want, you're the one that has to ride it when you trade the old model in for a newer model.

I'd like to see an example of your work if you do make knives and would sell some.
Do you have a website?
I'd rather support members than nonmembers when and if possible.
