Stall when down shifting to a stop.

I just got my roadster 2 weeks ago. Brand new 2017 left over. I now have 700 miles on it. During those miles 5 times I have run into a situation when downshifting coming to a stop sign.

Usually when shifting into first coming to the stop with clutch all the way in the bike will die. I recently had this happen shifting into second on the down shift as well.

Just had first service done and they find nothing wrong with tps or any other sensors.

Anyone else experice this or maybe know what I'm doing wrong?
 
Curious. I had the exact same behavior with my then new 2014 Touring.

I took it back to the dealer snidely, "I don't suppose I need to invoke the warranty here, do I?"

Got the bike back, and it was fine. Asked what they did, and while they were circumspect, I got the strong impression they had loaded a new ECU map.

Certainly two weeks out, I'd be taking that bike back with a quiet suggestion they fix it or refund it.

Hope you get it sorted soon, and this is the best place to be to be a Rocket owner; past, present, and future.

When mine did that it was a precursor to my TPS going titz.
 
Mine and a few other's roadsters did that when brand new as well. It has something to do with what they do during the first service, as it doesn't do it anymore.
 
My 2010 R3R did this a few times when new - but it settles in and behaves properly. They say its because the engine is still tight (NEW) but its nothing to worry about.
Just be a bit mindfull to keep a tiny bit of throttle when clutch is in and down shifting.
Also when you change your oil use a full synthetic Motul or Mobil1 or similar.
 
I think the did not do the required post 500 mile adjustments that are needed and just did an oil change for 4/500 dollars? Hopefully they did the oil change and filter??
Should have,

Changed oil and filter to full synthetic oil.

Hook up bike to computer, check all parameters and make adjustments.

Check throttle bodies are balanced.

Check slack on clutch

Check all bolts and nuts for proper torque.

Lube all pivot points.

Took me two trips to the dealer to accomplish this. The selling dealer did not do any of the above (except the oil change) a different dealer did and they even missed tightening the air intake plumbing hose clamps that were causing a slight intake back fire at low speed!!

Good luck and demand they do all that is needed (in a polite manner) to get the bike running spot on!!

Then arm yourself with all the information you can from this fine site and never go back to the dealer again!!
