If they are dead - One can at least use different clocks on earlier R3's. Pretty much any Universal Electronic gauges or clusters. No can-bus to get in the way.
I know the info to wire-up Daytona (USA) and Koso clocks is out there. Motogadget too. Daytona (Taiwan) a doddle.
I have a spare set of kmh clocks just in case but have often thought about a more (for my eyes) visible dash. At night I can barely see the numbers and needles on my R3 clocks. Being more long sighted with age isn't helping either.
