Seat options for short riders?

Thought this would be a good place to post these instead of starting a whole new thread. I have a pair of Harley lowering brackets for the rear shocks that I have heavily modified and lowered my bike about 1.5 inches. I've put about 15000 miles on the bike with them installed but I finally broke down and bought some. 11.5" shocks so I thought I would offer them up to whoever wants them. If you are considering lowering your Touring, you can easily install these and try the bike on for size just to see if that's what you really want to do before you spend that cash on a set of shocks. The only issue I saw was in the right side where the bottom of my stock shock must have hit the bracket when I hit a bump really hard. It bent the chrome part of the little shield on the bottom of the shock a little but didn't actually damage the shock. Like I said, I ran a bunch of miles like this. If I were to do it again, I would have bought the shocks a lot sooner. If anyone is interested, let me know and I will send them to you.

I'm 5'11" with a 30" inseam and have no problems. Every time I stop the bike is in gear in the event that the cager behind me does something stupid to cause me to have to move quickly. Left foot down and right foot on the peg to use rear break in the event I'm on an incline. The bike naturally leans slightly to the left which allows me to plant my left foot flat on the ground and I find I have better control over the bike in this situation, it doesn't flop left or right.

If I'm on a trip, I try to stay ready for anything. I just figured if anyone had ever considered lowering, this would be a free, easy trial to see if that's really what they want.

I can't really flatfoot the bike either, and I don't care. I'd much rather have the full spring travel and the proper geometry when doing what really counts - riding it.

hey brother did you ever sell the brackets? i am 5'6", did ok with the stock seat but added a corbin and it blew my footing. i had to take the seat to a local upholsterer to have foam cut out, but it's still a bit high. if you dont still have the brackets, can you direct me?

i bought a corbin solo custom seat for my touring 13. they put the bracket on wrong and did not finish the seat before they sent it! would not even go on the bike. i had to pay to send it back, they did fix it and when i got it, i was higher than before and could barely touch ground! I'm 5'6" so go figure. i had the seat taken apart by a local upholsterer and he cut out foam. its a lot better now but i still want my feet flat on the ground. i read another guys post about using harley lowering brackets for the bottom of the shock placement. supposed to lower it 1.5". also thought about getting a wider lower profile tire. any ideas? or has anyone heard about the harley lowering brackets?
