I don't like to put my (cell) phone numbers on the net... e mail me if you want them and I will shoot them back to you....

And Rusty is right... Doug33 can't make it....

Ok guys, I am in Indy at Denny's house. 600 something miles in 11 hours with 5 stops, not so bad. It was really wet at the end....looking forward to meeting everyone!

Later...

Tom

GOOD JOB!!

Dry weather is going to move in here... they are calling for about a 40% chance of rain tommorrow AM but even that looks like it is shrinking. I hope you are dry all day tommorrow!!

When you get in town and settled call me......

Ride safe!!:bch:

Planning

Hey Tomo, in case you haven't figured it out, I'm a "planner". If you find time, would you state the route you plan on taking to Sedalia? That way, if someone should run just past the "kickstands up" deadline, they would know which track to follow for an opportunity to catch up with the group.

I myself (am not only a "planner") am usually "overly prompt". Looking forward to Sunday.

See ya.

Begging your pardon, but that would kinda depend on where they're riding to. Mid-summer in THESE parts (KS-MO) is not necessarily ideal riding weather. Though it *can* be pleasant, you run a very high risk of weather that's horrendously hot and unstable too. This year the majority of mid-summer days were in the ballpark of 100 if not over--hotter than average summer yes, but we always have a lot of very hot mid-summer days!

Early fall is "generally speaking" some of our best and most stable riding weather, IF the term "stable" can ever be applied to a state where I've been in glorious sunshine and a tornadic storm within the same hour...and that was MO--in KS it's more like 20 min.

It was just a suggestion, nothing more (read my post). I really don't care when it is, even in January is fine, I'll just trailer the bike behind the motor home and we can bench race. Isn't that what the HD types do when they go to Sturgis??

My sidecar club (USCA) sets their national rally at the mid to end of summer each year and folks come from all over the USA and Canada to the rally. To that end, it might be nice to set aside a whole weekend rather than a day. Even the NTB Rally at the Gap is a week long affair and the NTB is nothing more than a forum devoted to Triumph Bonneville's. 'Course I won't do the Gap. Too dangerous for this old fart, I don't mend easily at my age and one of the NTB hot dogs this summer center punched a bridge abutment and wound up in ER. The USCA has their "National" at a different place in the US every year, last year was NC. Pretty hot and muggy there in the summer.

The NTB (New Triumph Bonneville Forum) guys are already setting up the preliminaries for next year's rally at the Gap, 9 months in advance.

Again, I, for one, don't care when or where a rally or get-together is. If I can make it, I will. If I have other plans or the notice is too short, or whatever, I'll pass just like this one. I joined this site a month ago and because of the farm, have a prior commitment. Given more lead time, I can and will make adjustments, however, the farm is paramount and I have no kids to take care of business. Ask Hondax, he knows.

I've been in KC in the summer. Read my post, I was engaged to a Gal out there and though years ago, I don't think global warming has altered the mean temperature that much. I've also been in Atlanta in July and August and out on the Inter-coastal. It's worse there than KC anytime. Besides, your R3 is water cooled. A hot R3 is like sitting on a campfire. Been there and done that too.

I realize this started out as a luncheon date and grew from that. You have guys traveling hundreds of miles and guys traveling zilch. Sounds like an interesting concept and needs to grow.

You'all can come up here to Michigan next year if you want to. All can camp in my side yard, I even have sewer hookup and the Cabella's outdoor store is 3 miles away along with at least 3 major motels/hotels and a big water park and if you really want an exciting afternoon, I'll give a guided trip to Detroit.:D If you want to, you can help with farm chores, drive tractors, bale hay and shovel manure and all the other great thing farm hands do like get plenty of rest and work your butts off. I might add that I pay my farm help 25 bucks an hour, cash. Money talks, BS walks. It's hard to find good, strong, weak minded help anymore. We even have a swimming pool and a big barbecue where you can make your own food or raid our fridge.

I'm 15 miles north of I-80-90, Ohio Turnpike, just off US Rte.23, easy to get too, but remote. I'm 3 miles off the paved road so you also can get gravel/dirt/pothole riding experience on your way to my place. Everyone will be as experienced as Wilbur is upon their arrival, and, if you slip off the road and into the ditch, I'll rescue you with one of the FEL's (Front end loader) and a nylon sling.

"We aim to please, so please aim........."

Good to hear Tom. As Tomo says this weather system seems to be fizzling a bit and should end this morning. Forecast for Sunday is holding with a partly cloudy sky, hitting 70f in the afternoon.
Have a safe second leg.:)

Point taken Flip--sorry, I wasn't trying to launch any debates over global warming or where/when next year's get-together will be. Anytime is fine with me too. OTOH, even if you have experienced KC in the summer I'm afraid you can't alter my opinion forged over a quarter-century of living & riding in these parts that early fall overall tends to be better riding weather than mid-summer. On average a bit more precip in the fall yes, but it is usually more predictable in nature (violent heat-induced storms boiling up out of nowhere are much rarer) and temperatures tend to be much more pleasant.

Route to Sedalia

We will leave the Quality Inn which is on 7 Hiway in Blue Springs at 10:30 AM...

We will travel south on 7 Hiway through Blue Springs and continue south of town until we come to 50 Hiway (Which is roughly 7 miles). We will take 50 Hiway east.

Stay on 50 Hiway for approximately 60 miles.... it runs right into Sedalia (You go through Warrensburg and by Knob Noster on the way there). Once you enter Sedalia look for Hiway 65 (Which is South Limit) and turn south (right) onto it... Go approximately 2 or 3 miles and look for Kehde's BBQ on the east side of South Limit...1915 South Limit. It has an old railroad passenger car as part of the resturant.

Better yet... just get your butt out of bed and meet us at the Quality Inn in Blue Springs and ride down with us :D. A bunch of Rockets running down the Hiway makes an awesome sound!
