Rented a Harley Electra Glide while on vacation

That was just for a picture, and on the way to drop the bike off just down the street. It was way to hot to get dressed up for a 3 minute ride
Just curious....... I've never rented a bike before.... what was the rental fee out there, if you don't mind me asking?

Ridden that area many times. Awesome riding to be sure.
Seeing that donkey - did you make it to Oatman?
If you ever get back there do not miss the Valley of Fire Highway and the Northshore Road along Lake Meade!

.. I hear you have legalized weed down there ;) lol[/QUOTE]
don't live in colo.tree huggers do their own thing. donkey was laughing because looks like someone tied knots in youre legs to give you knees

I was on a rented HD E-Glide when I test rode my first Rocket. Could not believe the difference. Just like ricochet said, at highway speed, wack open the throttle and NOTHING happens. The intake sound gets louder, thats it. We had a lot of problems with the back shocks bottoming out on the HD. Even with the max amount of air in them. The "real" cruise control was nice. I wouldn't give you two $hits for a stereo on a motorcycle. It was a huge step up from the 69' E-Glide I was riding at the time. No comparison to a Roc though !

Looks like you had a great trip. I just love it in the desert. We did a similar route a few years ago on the beast. It was in September and the weather was great, no rain and not to hot.
Heaven !

Yeah, I don't get the notion of putting a stereo with speakers on a motorcycle. I suppose it might be nice if you're parked and having an ice cream or something... doing full bore down the road with wind noise and a helmet covering your ears? Yeah, no. I would love a real cruise control though, admittedly.

The Music on the Goldwing is OK..what I do is plug my I pod into the system and it comes through loud and clear it's also speed sensitive which keeps it at the level you want
Cruise control eliminates the risk of speeding and a punch in the back from you know who..sometimes I find myself going faster with certain music so I just set the Cruise:thumbsup:
And relax ;)

How long did you wait at Monument valley before you could take that picture with such an empty road ? ...... sounds like my kind of trip with the wife ....... funny how riding another machine can make you appreciate what you already have back home. Happy days and good memories eh!!!

Didn't have to wait long at all. The road is so **** long that even if cars were coming you had plenty of time to get in there and shoot a picture; but I made sure I was being spotted by the wife for any traffic behind me.

I hope to do the same either next year or the year after ...... In my opinion the ultimate picture evoking the free spirit of riding a bike in these wild places. Thanks once again for posting the pic
