Rear wheel bearing replacement...

Using a bar to remove bearings is just plain stupid. A blind puller removes the bearing evenly. Resulting in no damage to rim. :whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling: Basic mechanic 101.

Understood but why tap? With the proper tool you pull. Given a bearing that comes out evenly. You pull a bearing and press a bearing. Not tap. No disrespect meant.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I tend to not buy a lot of one use tools. Just the Sottish in me I guess. This is only the second bike I've ever had to replace wheel bearings in. The first one was also a Triumph. A T160. No disrespect taken .

The 2010 Harley we had to replace the wheel bearings every 15,000 to 20,000 miles. With the introduction of ABS Harley went to narrower wheel bearings. The Rocket is better made but the stock bearings do wear out quickly. Especially the rear. Just got in the habit of having the right tools for the job. Plus we use the tools a lot. Kind of a side job working on Harleys.

An appropriate sized deep socket works well for me.
Am I cheap? I don't do bearing removal very often (twice in 5+ years).

All I can say is my rear bearings have only been replaced one time in 38,000 miles. Still good to go.:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll:

So, Sonny, now that we know All-Balls are China made, what would you say is the best US made bearing?

A good Blind puller set is nice but can be pricey. I do intend on buying a nice set at some point.

The tool I linked comes in various sizes, the smaller size will work on the wheel perfectly. The largest size is the one for the R3 steering neck....learned that the hard way.

Do love my motionpro driver set though though, makes me go in square and easily every time! Money well spent.

. The last time I ordered from All-Balls the bearings were American made. This time Chinese #rap. Sent them back and basically told them to Kiss My #ss. No refund required. Took the dimensions of the stock wheel bearings to a company in Tulsa. Three days later had a set of bearings that were American made. They make them for you and it cost but believe it is well worth it.
