I will have my 2011 Touring tuned soon on a Dynojet. It has a PC5, Jardine headers/exhaust, and underseat K&N a/c. The a/c will not be changed. What are reasonable torque (at 2000 rpm) and HP goals to expect a "good" tuner to achieve? Unfortunately, it's impossible to get the bike to Wayne for the ultimate tune.

You should install one of Waynes tunes before you go to the dyno. That way the timing changes, secondary Throttle plates open and the other various changes he makes besides fueling. This will get the most bang for you buck with just tuning the PCV fueling in.

Thanks, Warp9.9. Do you mean I should download a tune ecu map (I had one before the PC5). If so, since the PC5 with its base map is already installed, how do I get a tune ecu map into that system? My ignorance about this is fundamental.

If you had a good map in the ECU before the PCV, then it's still in there. The PCV adjusts the fueling, but the ECU still controls timing, idle, secondary throttle plates, rev limit, & top end.

If you need to load a tune ECU map, do it just like before with the cable going straight to the ECU.

imo a GOOD tuner would not NEED the PC5.

Despite this, the PC5 route is really to take advantage of Autotune because you don't have a GOOD tuner close. The day I discover how to pass the PC5 trim values into TuneECU values (mathematically predicted as the cell boundaries are not identical) I will.

That aside - what you'll almost certainly notice is that the beast is smoother. Everybody I know with a PC5 - not just on Rockets - comments on this. This may actually be because the cell boundaries differ - It generates a sort of fuzzy logic.

If you use the secondary butterflies deliberately differently in each gear - the map/gear function in the PC5 is a plus. Also because the ignition values are different too.

MAKE SURE YOU FORCE THE ECU MAP to always depend on the PC5 for fuelling. If you let it switch between the F and L tables - any piggyback system is going to have a hell of a time calculating and predicting.

So, gentlemen, what kind of torque and HP numbers should I expect from a "good" tune?
