Madstad brackets with GP Compozit windscreen. Adjusts pretty far on the fly. Up and out for touring, in and down for around town. The two extremes are shown in the pics but you can put it just about anywhere in between. Taking it out for the first drive later but feels really solid.

G-Force, how do you like your Madsad windscreen? Been thinking to get their 22” medium grey for my GT…..

The Madstad brackets are phenomenal and the compozit screen looks great. Operationally, it works fine. No vibration or buffetting and I can wear an open face helmet. Other than no hand protection, I am very happy with the set-up.

That’s great to hear, definitely going to order one…. Which tint did you go with?

The compozit came with the smoke tint. I ordered the clear from Madstad but did not use it. Not sure if you have seen this pic of the three screens. OEM, Compozit, Madstad (Shorter of the two available). I look over the windshield so the tint just helps with the cosmetics. The Composite came with non-adjustable mounts that did not allow for proper positioning (in my opinion:)) The Madstad mount system is highly adjustable.

Thanks @G-Force... good feedback. I just purchased the same GP Komposite, but not looked at also getting the adjustable brackets - never thought of that... was thinking I'd just bolt the new one straight on - so to re-visit your quick comment:

"The Composite came with non-adjustable mounts that did not allow for proper positioning (in my opinion:))"

I am assuming the composite by itself is better than the standard screen? And the Madstad brackets made it better again?

Those adjustable brackets - do you find yourself adjusting the angle often?

Thankyou!

Hi there. I found the madstad oval screen boring. It did not add to the esthetics of the bike but rather made it look cheezy (IMHO). The Komposite screen isn't any more functional but looks better. The madstad brackets allow a greater angle / stand-off than the Komposite hardware. The greater angle deflects the wind 90% over my head and allows me to use an open face helmet. But just barely. Poke your head up a bit and you are back into the wind, crouch down just a bit and you are completely out of the wind. Note that I'm 5 ft 9. I also have the mid controls installed and Rox handlebar risers that push you up and back a bit. (love those too!).I didn't try the Komposite hardware but imagine that the more acute angle may deflect the wind directly into your face. I have kept the brackets at maximum "touring" angle for the life of the install. I mostly ride my ZX14R (Wee-haw) and only have 10K on the GT. Oh, I installed custom highway pegs but do not use them at all.
