Pulled over yesterday

Had an SUV pull out in front of me last week down here in Savannah Ga..They decided to cruise on through the stop sign without stopping. Missed them by a hair. It scared me, made me mad as hell. I stopped in the middle of the road so they could catch up to me but they were not going to have any part of that, so they stopped also and I went on my way. 535 folks have died in the state of Georgia so far this year.

Not motorcycle ticket but...
a few years ago a friend jumped on the freeway and punched it...up to about 120 mph.
He sees a highway patrol with lights on behind him and tells his wife who is in the car he's going to jail. (65 MPH speed limit)
He pulls over and waits for the CHP to catch up. Officer walks up and tells him to get out and open the hood. Seems the officer also had a Mustang and wanted to know what he did to the engine. They talked for about 30 minutes, and no ticket. One lucky SOB!

I don't know about the U.S but here in Australia we have a points system where you lose "points" off your license whenever you are booked for traffic infringements, if you lose enough points in a given timeframe your license is suspended so it's not just the financial cost of a ticket but the fact you may lose your license that makes me keep an eye on the speedo. In all honesty though if I got caught every time I went over I would be broke, not have a license and consequently be out of a job:(
I only wish I could lose those pesky points... Not too be too picky because it doesn't really matter but they are demerit points and you actually gain them!
just sayin';)

I was on a road Memorial Day weekend and much to my dislike I got a ticket. There were three of us, my 05 classic rocket and two Harleys. We all got tickets, mine was 73 in a 55, the others were 71, and 70. So in my mind I win because I wa going the fastest.

My first "non-ticket" was in Florida way late at night. I was home from Vietnam and blasting down the highway @120 in my brand new 1967 Cougar with two other pin-headed morons in the car with me. I see these headlights way back in the distance. I keep it @ 120, but the lights get closer and closer. As the car pulls up even and slowly passes me...it's a Florida Highway Patrol car. He just kept going...of course, I slowed down to the posted speed limit. Lucky will beat smart every time.

Here in Australia you just drive by a van and a few weeks later it (the massive fine) arrives in the mail, very efficient money making scheme. I thought the US would have embraced this capitalist concept. I know they tried in Ontario Canada (using equipment supplied by Victoria Police) back in the 90's and the provincial (state) government got booted out

Read where a couple of scoundrels snuck up on one of those parked vans .. unscrewed the number plates and bolted them onto their vehicle . 8 or 9 high speed passes and they'd had enough fun and went home :ninja:

That there is AWESOME!!

I'm just happy to still be driving. I got 10 tickets before my first warning (and before I'd had my license a year!) luckily that was back in the day when the different departments weren't all tied together so different county sheriffs, city, and statey's didn't know about the rest ;) worst was 135 mph in a 55 zone. Took him 7 miles to catch up! That one cost me a ton of money and 250 hours community service, but luckily no jail or loss of license (he dropped it to 85...so he wouldn't have to go back to work and process me in :) ) favorite was following a sheriff (with his wife and kid in the car!) down the interstate for 90 miles doing 120. We hit his county line, he pulled off, flipped his lights on, and pulled me over. Knew better than to give me a ticket since I had his badge and plate number! Performed a nice smoke out pulling back onto the interstate in front of him. Awe, the bravado and stupidity of youth ;) still speed, but not as bad. Have had a ticket in 10 different European countries (but all less than 25 over the limit!) yep, I'm gonna miss the autobahn!!! :(
