Colin already has one from Tom in the UK and it's cut ready to accept filter material.

I only really NEED one so if Colin wants a second I'm fine with that. Otherwise I'll take both. We're not in cahoots as such - but we're in the multiple emails a day stage.

PM me with postage costs - so I can get the money ready to send. Paypal?

So one each .. that right ? Don't have PayPal , wait and see how much postage is mate. Haven't got a Triumph Dealership near you that has a 'shop t-shirt' have you? A neat Triumph t-shirts always good ;)

If needed I can act as your PayPal go between as before TC, but a T-Shirt sounds a better option (man after my own heart, never have too many T-Shirts):D

I'll ask Colin what he wants. No dealers near me that are worthy of a visit. And the shop T-shirt thing seems not to happen here. If they did I might actually visit a dealer every so often.

You've email on its way mate.

So you still wanting the plenum mate ? Not sure if you and Barbagris are working in cahoots or what ? .. just let me know if you still want one sent to you or both to Barbagris in Spain ?

As Barb has said, I'm sorted thanks to Owl - been dealing with him on the .com site, forgot some on here don't do that site and wouldn't have seen the posts.:D

Thanks anyway. ;)

This is what I have done with it.

Point being .. you didn't want to fit K&Nish style filters ? Is there a reason why this is better/superior to fitting pods ?

Couple of reasons why I'm doing this.

1) I find the K&N's noisy. The "chirping crickets" now sound more like a chorus of squealing castrated mice - but it's annoying. So much so that I actually re fitted the plenum (inner and outer) and ran the single under-tank filter in preference.

2) The Rubber bellmouths (the bits that fit the grey box to the throttle bodies are in fact bellmouths) do work. I've been told that Carpenter racing use the rubber bellmouths unfiltered on their race bike - this (to me) signifies they bring benefit.

They improve airflow and help prevent spit-back. Something that (from the noises I can hear) the R3 seems a bit prone to. This imo is BAD and has to be stopped.

3) I'm just bloody minded.

I'll also be insulating (sound and heat) the plastic bits of the plenum I don't cut away and foam over and fitting a heat shield. Also ordered a shed load of filter foam to try and make a one piece filter sock to fit over the bell-mouths too. One has to experiment.

The point isn't necessarily about not wanting to go the K&N route but there is a valid reason why using bell-mouths will increase the air flow and reduce spit-back.

Whether this particular mod will do the job is to be determined, but without trying how would you know?

Thanks for explaining .. not a fan of the 'crickets' myself. Be interested how you two nutty professors go with this .. please keep us updated. PS i'll be hanging onto my last plenum just in case you guys discover the cure :D
