All done and fitted. Did a 50 mile shakedown on Monday just to check it out. Everything went ok and it performed much as expected, could detect some improvement but didn't go anywhere near wot, would want to get the afr's checked before doing that.

As an experiment it was a useful exercise but I'm not too sure if its for me, the induction noise is substantially louder - how it compares to triple K&N's I cant judge as no experience of them, I'm told they are quite a bit louder too.

Will be doing a few more miles on different road types over the next couple of days to get more data, then move on to the next idea. Chris from Spain is going for the Mk2 version whilst I go off at a tangent. :D

And in readiness I fitted triple K&N's and will run them a bit so I can see what the PCV-AT makes of the difference. I'll be making a different cut to the grey plastic - and one of the side ovals inlets will get foam. I'll also be adding sound and heat shields. Parts are on their way from across the world. Will be another week at least though - patience.

I've melted bitumen sheeting onto the inside of my bearclaw in an attempt to lessen the induction noise ... it did help.

I just did mine last night.

I put the bearclaw on this morning with the sound deadening in it, Kicked it in the guts and I am happy with the induction noise reduction, It works well:cool:

Stuff I'll be using is similar - at the moment it's rubber lined. Though I'm thinking it'd be be better to apply the sound deadening to the plastic part - if that does not vibrate that's half the battle won.

Also I've "sealed" the joint between tank and claw across the top. By accident rather than design but.......

The noise however (on mine) is audible from the other side of the engine whilst riding. This requires a more interesting solution.

I'll also be deadening the side of the tank under the claw. And making a small shield

Maybe today - it's hot and my front tyre is bald.

See the second photo above - that's what TC in I used.
Glued on with contact adhesive heated the tar sheet to make is mouldable, glue it in heat again pushing it down with a rag or glove (Don't want that tar melting on your fingers)
