I have a 200 rear on mine and I would love to have enough horsepower to worry about smoking it. I also have the weave you are talking about at high speed. I didn't have much of a problem with the tall windshield but I took about 3 inches off of it and developed the weave so it's got something to do with the shield I believe.

Interesting, on the stock rim? I didn't notice mine til the Jardines and loaded a 150 hp tune, I'd only had it to 120 mph previously. The best way I could describe it is it felt like it was rotating back and forth around it's longitudinal axis, like a watch spring, but very slow motion.

PS- Now it blows by 120 still pulling hard.

Yup, on the stock rim. It's more like the wobble you get from heavily grooved pavement. It's not enough to slow me down much, but a rider behind me will notice it. I notice it even more behind big trucks. At first I thought it was the car tire, so I changed to the 200 Bridgestone and its still there. It's got to be aerodynamics. I do have to say I like the looks of the 200 and I can scrape the pegs fairly easily being more confident of a little more meat on the ground.

I noticed mine at higher speeds but then mine is a classic. once I changed suspension height in the rear putting a little more weight on the front it stabilized. Of course when I run the roadster screen it can can happen depending on wind gust. Not sure if this will help you any as there is a difference in the style of forks between them.

Also in case anyone wants to know I have a 2005, 2006, 2007, and, a 2011 tensioner and other then the two different colors the are exactly the same in every way.

I want to try a run without the windshield, or maybe with a very small Boulevard Peak windshield I picked up.

What's your idea of higher speeds, I'm afraid to ask, LOL?

On the standard type Rocket/Classics withthe windshiel the wobble can sart as low as 145 mph. with the extra suspension changes this moved up to 160-165 mph range. With the sports screen I have had it up to 179mph in 4th gear with no issue except the ruff road bouncing my foot off the floorboard. My bad though I relaxed my posture instead of keeping my feet planted. with nothining up front and chin on the tank I have runn 8300 rpms on the tachometer wish I had the gps on her that day.so it is safe to say 200 mph incase the tach is off and the wind resistance had some effect. (8300 is a calculated 220 mph in fifth gear)Like I said though I am not sure what the difference in the front forks will do between them. I intend on sending mine out and having cartridges installed in them with adjustable rebound dampening added this winter.

Hence the name, "Warp"....
Dude that's crazy!( yes I'm a little jealous)

Mine gets a wobble at 70 and I've never had her over 110 because I don't have a tach and don't want to twist it too hard. Things may change if I go up against the VRod though. I would love to try a 150 hp tune but don't know who to see or what to do o go about it.what kind of gas mileage are you getting with that tune?

DRMD, I wouldn't worry too much about the engine, in stock tune you'll never strain her, the rev limiter kicks in at 5700, I hit it several times, mine is now raised to 6200, I think Carpenter sets it at 9000, Carpenter package peak hp is at around 8600, if I remember.

Warp, how much did you raise the rear, and with what, Hagons?

25-38 mpg, depending on how I ride, which is usually hard. I recently rode to Key West and back, so I got to know mileage pretty well. At 55 you could probably get near 40, but I've never rode at that speed, 65 gets 38, 70 - 75 gets 35, or close, 80-85 gets in the 30 range, above that it drops more. I have someone else's tune, further tweaked by Hanso when I emailed it to him, I'm sure with a dyno tune it could be improved.

I use two different shocks depending on what I am going to do with the bike. I have a set of Hagons 350 mm you have to have single sided exhaust to go this high. otherwise the cross over will hit the swing frame. I think 340 is maxe with the craoos over. the Hagons with stock tire diameter and when heading to the twisties. make tofront bight nicely which helps me since I do not live in a area that has twisies. withthe 255 bridgey and semi twisties and higher speeds say above 160 I use the YSS 320 mm withthe abiltity to adjust them 10 mm over or under they are good at faster speeds especiall allowing you to decide how much plant you want on the front. You figure you get a little more weight planted with the Bridge stone 240/55/16 anyway so I can run them at 320 and still have more wi=eight transfer up front. The you get into the tire diamiter difference on my 18 inch rim which adds to the tire height also. It boils down to what are you going to do with her which makes you set the suspension up for it. I would say I love the adjustability of the YSS better and other then that I think the are very much the same quality as the hagons. You shoul dlook at the YSS site and check out the tech how to section on setting up the shocks and even the front suspension.

The more I think about it the GiPro ATRE may be the best bet for now. From what I read it overrides the timing retard and rev limiter and might quench my thirst a bit until I can make more expensive mods.
