The more I think about it the GiPro ATRE may be the best bet for now. From what I read it overrides the timing retard and rev limiter and might quench my thirst a bit until I can make more expensive mods.

TuneECU is freeware, all you need to buy is a $15 cable, check into that, too. You could pick up a bit even with the stock setup, especially on a Touring, as they are a detuned version of the same engine in the roadster and classic.

You would be better off using one of the software tuning aids if nothing else for the diagnostic abilities.

Is this it?

Amazon.com: USB Cable for Triumph Motorcycle TuneECU Program: Automotive

All I have to do is download the TuneEcu software to my laptop and I can make adjustments from there? Where exactly is the data port on my Touring?

Yes, that's the correct one, same company I ordered mine from. I haven't progressed to the point of tweaking it myself yet, but there are many who have dynoed their bikes here and are willing to share tunes, I believe there is a forum section for it. So easy even a Tripps can do it. LOL Just save your tune and download a new one, there are tutorials both on the Tune ECU site, the triumphrat.net site, and maybe here.

Plug is under the seat, you can't miss it.

Thanks, I will do that. I didn't realize it was that easy. I did look over the TuneECU site and saw 3 tunes there, I believe, for the Touring. I'm willing to try it. There's a lot of good info and help on this site and I greatly appreciate you guys helping me out.

I sent YSS off a message warp, good site, but I wouldn't trust myself to order without their guidance, most of their stuff looked to be for smaller bikes, but I gave them a lot of info, we'll see what they say.
