Ride
2021 rocket3 GT
just to let folks know I took all the bodywork of the bikes as well as the wheels since it will be 6 months before we can ride in this crappy snowy country I figured lets do some mods
I plasti-dipped the wheels in black as well as the inner brakes mounting rings
I started to sand all body parts filled in with bondo the recess of the two side cover and then I looked at the gas tank now if there was a thing of beauty with harmey badidson is their gas tank nice round curves all around particularly going from side to underside then I look at the roadster tank pressed and welded sides rather ugly so I sanded to the metal the bottom edges and bondoed from the front to the rear a nice rounded finish so when I look at the bike from the side (right side) I see a nice gas tank with rounded well finished edges and not the ugly pressed finish!! to each his own idea of ugliness and beauty .
next week it is off to the paint shop where I will spray a nice BRG color solid no stripes just one color the finished job will be black wheels and engine and BRG with the word R3 on the side covers either yellow or white have not decided yet I also frenched in the rear light (small LED) and found two nice(small) turns signal to complement the shortened rear fender, she is an 06 but to me she is a thing of agricultural beauty .

and with the ramair filter already mounted and jars on the other side I am sure there will be plenty power on tap only six months to wait ..

next week paint will post pics of the result.
Looking forward to see your bike when its finished, Its going to be a really sharp looking rocket in British Racing Green.
I might get an older rocket and do the same thing.
Excellent winter project.

I really love my Blue/Aluminium 2-tone, but I always keep my eyes open for another set of tins that I can custom paint and swap out.

I am painting mine on monday at 3'00pm at u wrench paint booth care to come and look Valspar brand dark green is what I chose (BRG) I already plasti-dipped the wheels in black as well as the inner brakes mounted a bridgestone on the rear (incidentally bought it at JC motor in the states for $185 with shipping and tax 220 the total beats blackfoot $ 312) I also sanded the tank to the metal around the pressed joint on the right side and front that I found so ugly to look at and bondoed the edge smoothly it looks so much better

did you read my review of the roof desmo it is a nice helmet and for the first time I do not feel "trapped in" when I lower the chin bar all in all I am happy with it. only missing is a sun glare shield.
