OK. Had Tuneboy Awhile now...

Ex-'s laptop went to Washington, so, I tried to use my 'ole Compaq Desktop assigned to garage duties, but it just kept chugging & buggin...

Finally got my hands on a sexy 17 inch Gateway laptop-err..."notebook."

Got Tunbrah' up and runnning with a little help from Jethro and got to talking with the beast.

Weird when I turned her on, she idled way high, and way fast (1900 K)

While it was more or less warmed up, I was getting a TPS volt of .640-.645 and short of that, it was all I got (didn't mess with any downloads at the time).

I was planning on putting the idle screw back to stock, and bumping the idle to see if I had any idle problems...I'm going to have to fish for my CD on the Rock manual to see what other adjustments should be made as well....

I don't think that's weird, mine on cold starts almost always goes to 1900rpms before settling to 750rpms after a few seconds. It just means your stepper motor is working properly.
The TPS voltage is definitely wrong, it should be .60 + or - .02.
IMO, putting the screw back to stock is a good idea. Adjust the idle with TB.
Glad to hear everything is good with TB now. Now we need to get your router working.
Oh, I forgot to ask, was your bike running when you got your TPS reading?

Yes, I say it's wierd b/c it hadn't done that on a cold start in forever...guess I should have clarified. Was weird it did that with TB attached...

MD . . .same here . . . mine idles up high, burps and farts and then smooths out and settles down to idle after about 5-10 seconds.

Probably normal . . . you've been running abnormal!

ok, my tuneboy has arrived. This may sound dumb, but I don't see a connector to hook the USB serial cable end to. So, with out to much crap, where is it???

Look under the tool tray, its a black wire and mine is clipped down between the battery and fuses.

coloured the red bit myself and that is the plug you need except it is black in the real world

Thanks for the info. I have ever place open on the bike looking for the connector. I did not look under the tool tray. I will give it a try.
thanks
