I assume this is an "always-on" connection?

Surely hope so, otherwise would defeat the purpose.
Only thing remaining would be the battery tender ring terminal to the socket outlet adapter. Anyone know what that is, name of it, or link to it?

Yes, always on and you can use it for charging instead of the plug above the cockpit

So this SAE terminal can plug into the socket directly or do you need an adapter in between? Sorry I don't have the auxiliary socket so I have no idea what can plug into it.

The typical N American 12 volt cigarette lighter male plug will not fit in the plug provided by Triumph. It is a Hella or European 12 volt plug which is smaller. Powerlet sells a cord with the correct plug so no adaptor is needed.

I have 1 of these attached to the SAE end of the tender lead:

It's a SAE to Hella/DIN plug.
