New R3 Owner from Chicago! Advice Appreciated

Abe welcome from Maine, service manuel is available on this web site, just can't remember who has it as part of their sub details, attached permanently to their description. Someone will show up and point it out to you I'm sure.

Welcome Abe! from Montreal. You might try and see if you can get the history of the dealer he was going to if he had service done to it. Before taking it apart have you verified that the clutch is really well adjusted. Second thing heal shift are useless as tits on a bull. I myself found that my bike shifts better with Amsoil 20/50 . Could be in my head but I'm pretty sure of what I'm stating. Then if this does not work then checkout the detent spring.

Welcome from another Carol Stream resident. My 2006 was starting to sound like a hammer hitting an anvil going into 2nd at around 25,000 miles and not wanting to be that guy I traded it back to the shop that initially sold it to me. I bought mine with problems shifting into and staying in 1st gear andf the guys on this forum offered suggestions on technique and I got another 14k out of it and for all I know the current owner's still nursing it along. I saved my acc's because though I traded for a k1600gtl once my wife's done riding with me i'm going back to the R3.

B4 we started attacking dealers in droves an update kit for the r3 was only $225 but they wised up to us and raised the price about 80%

The wanker who sold you the bike must have known it was having a problem:mad: good hard kick in the stones might be required :D

Though it was a car... I remember when my trusting nature was taken advantage of when I was a new family man. The car I needed for our newest edition was already running when I got there.... I took it for a drive and and purchased it on the spot. F* Head never told me it had a bad starter... It sounded like broken blender the first time I turned the key in our driveway. I would have still purchased the car but it would have given me a little more bargaining power. What erks me the most is his lack of integrity.

Welcome Abe! You'll find all the help you'll need here.
