I bought my rocket new as an '06, the first with the black engine. I purchased $1500 worth of extras from Triumph right away. Since then I've put on Predators, nevs cams, triple k&n's, Tuneboy, PCIII, Six pot calipers, progressive 440's, progressive fork springs, Corbin dual seat, side mount license plate, Nev's lock up clutch, and new Avon Cobra tires. That probably makes a total cash outlay of over 20k. The bike has 10k miles and would probably bring only 9k on ebay. Some of our foreign friends have over 60k kilometers on there RIII'(go figure that crazy Kiwi with 40k kilometers, he must have circled that island a thousand times!) with no major problems. I personally have had no warranty issues. Of course I have had a few parts rechromed and alot of mods to unleash the beast. So why buy new when you can take advantage of the economy and pick up a cool bike for under 10k? Then you can take it to Carpenter's Racing and drop 6k on his 230hp kit, ride in ride out. The bike is like a Valk and will run forever, you just need to do some rejuvenation to the finishes.
