My mods so far

Well I finally got my rearsets made and the front end mods done now it is time to work out the bugs!
I put on lower, wider bars with VTX1800 risers, and made a new mount that lowered the headlights about 2" and mounted the gauges on it also. I was thinking about buying the Raask rearsets but I didn't like how they mounted the master cylinder and wanted to keep the stock pegs and pedals (although I had to modify them) so I made my own which I think look a little cleaner and I guarantee are mounted stronger than the Raask's.
I do have a few small issues, the gauges are a little too close to the headlights and vibrates at certain rpms and the really cool, lightweight aluminum shifter rod didn't last one shift (it really worked good on the lift in the garage!) so that will get redone asap out of steel although I was able to make a splint for it to get 150 miles on it on Sunday. The riding position is pure streetfighter with your hands spread pretty wide (the bars are 39") but for me it is much more comfortable and feels 200% better in the corners, I have much more control with my feet at the middle of the bike and I can hang off in the turns superbike style! I am really happy that all my mods make the bike look a lot better and work a lot better (for me anyway, most people would probably find it very awkward) it's nice to have form and function!:D

watch out that you don't catch your right foot on fire. Looks good, have fun. Rademis

The exhaust isn't any closer to your foot than it is in stock form, you do feel more heat from the engine though since your legs are ta the rear of the engine instead of beside it.

sweet "real" mods!!! glad you didn't just "bolt-on" a set of raasks!
you don't have a pic of new modded headlight mount bracket do you? i like them lowered!
rubber mounts on clocks???
looks great!!

EDIT--got curious and went back and looked again.--how about a view behind those bottom chrome wing covers under side panels? that's where the real OZ resides on your nice rearset mods huh !!!!
super nice work!!

The muffler is a Staintune that I had been saving for a project like this and I have one for the other side that I will put on at some point when I get around to making another mid-pipe.

The controls bolt on to the bars that the rear pegs are mounted to.

I didn't get any pics of the headlight/gauge setup as I built it when I am "in the zone" in my shop I often forget to take pics. The bracket that goes between the triple clamps I made from scratch and the rest is modded stock parts.

As before I didn't get much pics on the build-up on the rear-sets but I want to but better hardware and loctite everthing after a little more testing, I'll try and remember to get pics then.

If you like this check out my other projects here- www.myspace.com/end40

nice job.. next is x the bicycle reflectors and re position plate and turn signals

The plate has been repositioned along with the turn signals and if you are referring to the reflectors on the license plate frame they are there to pass PA state inspection.

Next will be saddlebags, detachable tour pack, dual mufflers, sissybar and grab rail when not using the tour pack and sissybar.
