My click click starter saga

Contacts in the relay I just replaced were burned, this is going to be my new preventive maintenance item as cheap as they are, once a year I'll replace it as
cheap insurance. This relay is maybe a year old.

i wonder if maybe there r just cheap relays with cheap points (low grade material) that go bad sooner.

The brand is Hella but it also says Made in China, other Hella's I've looked at said Made in Germany, you might have a point.
The one in it now is a Duralast Auto Zone brand so who knows it's quality. Maybe I should buy a Bosch brand if they're any better.

i bought a spare triumph relay don' t know which is in mine.
i assume triumph is good
i guess with a few having problems may be keep and eye open
there is a relay that operates the power to the automatic trans on dodges and i have had to change some of them
some that was hanging down so full of water. happens on the r3 when the rubber that supports them goes bad.

i think you could be right about variable quality,
The original starter relay on my bike burnt out a couple of years ago, I replaced it, then a short time later had to replace it again.
The third one that's in there now has been in there for quite some time, and is fine.

I really think that's the problem along with the whippy spade connector at the starter solenoid I also replaced it with a heavier one. I know about replacing them at the relay and I did that but there's a small one at the solenoid also.
