Wow, Harley has finally caught up with Yamaha's Raider engine that is 8 years old. Same size, same power. The dealers will love it, another rash of recalls coming up.

The Rocket puts out more heat than the water cooled Ultra, the only difference is that the Rocket stays together and the Ultra has to have a chase vehicle picking up parts falling, at 2 months old the Ultra had to have the clutch replaced, at my cost, the shocks replaced under warranty, the auxiliary lights repaired and the info center repaired,,,,,almost forgot, the shifter fell apart and i had to put it back together in the middle of nowhere and the tools they give you are as good as a pile of bricks because nothing fits that nut

@mexican I feel your pain brudda. It was an 07 Twin cam that put me on a Rocket. I had a 94 ElectraGlide that was one fine motor. I beat that bike like a gong for 129,000 miles and had very little problems with it. Traded it on that cross eyed-SOB of a Twin Cam and found out real quick that the bean counters were back in charge of HD. I still regret getting rid of the 94 which was the second best bike I ever owned for the 07 which was the 2nd Worst.

Ol'Blue was solid as a rock and about as fast but she sure was comfy.

This will be the last development in the traditional lineup of engines. And it may stay around for years, but all water cooling is the next development. To keep producing the cubic inches, and meet emissions it is a must. They cannot avoid it.

The twin cam motor is a joke. The built in engineering defects and weak points from Harley trying to stay competitive in the market place has resulted in a non reliable engine. The sad thing is i like the Harley (2010 Fatboy) but just about everything I have replaced on it was made in CHINA. At 87,500 miles I have replaced a lot. I try to buy American made parts when possible when something breaks. So one of these days I am going to grab every receipt and tape it to the appropriate area on the bike and take a picture and sent it to Harley Davidson with a foot note. Gee guys look a real AMERICAN MADE BIKE. I look at it this way If your going to preach that it is AMERICAN STEEL than do it. The only thing I have found to be AMERICAN MADE is the name on the gas tank. Hell even the gas take is made over seas. VERY SAD.
